Barbara Seagroves Conwell Keeter, 84, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Friday, June 26, 2020 at Signature Healthcare.

Barbara was born August 28, 1935 in Chatham County to the late Eugene and Bessie Seagroves. 

She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Jack C. Conwell and Cleveland L. Keeter; her siblings, Bernice Seagroves, Dewey Lee Seagroves and Louis Seagroves; her grandson, Dennis Bennett.

Barbara was a lifelong Baptist. She attended Bethel Baptist Church and in her later years Rosemary Baptist Church. Barbara loved to grow flowers, especially gerber daisies. She loved to bake and was always counted on for coconut pies.

Barbara is survived by her children, Jack W. Conwell and his wife Vicky, Lisa Mitchell and her husband Brian and Debra K. Conwell; her granddaughter, Casey Nicole Johnson; her siblings, Jean Miles, Thomas Seagroves and his wife Mildred, Melvin Seagroves and Mayrene Castleberry; her sister-in-laws, Elaine Baldasare and her husband Tom, Patsy Williams; her brothers-in-law, P.J. Conwell and his wife Louise and L. H. Sandy; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, June 29, 2020 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Frank Stansbury officiating. 

Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:45 P.M. prior to the service.
