Loyd Wayne “Dude” Dickens, 78, died Saturday, January 30, 2021 in his Littleton home.

Dude was born on September 8, 1942, in Wake County, to Loyd Edward and Louise Mullis Dickens.

He was the long time welding instructor at Halifax County Community College; and, was an active member of Weavers Chapel United Methodist Church.

Dude is survived by his wife, Regina Schaaf Dickens; step-mother, Doris Tart Dickens; brother, Dalton T. Dickens (Donna); sister, Celestia D. Long; and his in-laws, Diane S. Medlin (Dale).

Plans for a memorial service, which will be held at a later date, are being made.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Wayne “Dude” Dickens Welding Scholarship at Halifax County Community College; or to Weavers Chapel United Methodist Church.
