The son of Lucius and Piccolla Cooper Dickens, Robin was born February 27, 1957 in Halifax County.

Robin was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.  He had a strong love for the Lord and made sure to read his Bible every day.  Robin was a retired welder, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was extremely knowledgeable of where the best fishing spots were.

He was also a perfectionist carpenter, if it wasn't right he was going to redo it. He loved to go sit at the river and just watch nature. He also loved a glass of sweet tea and Browning’s Grill hotdogs. One other thing he really enjoyed was sitting in his shed with his fur babies, Onne, Pee Wee and Baby Cat. Robin was proud of the fact that in November 2020 he received his 15 year sobriety pin.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Yarborough Dickens; daughter, Kristie Rightmyer, son-in-law Nick Rightmyer; grandchildren, Alicia, Ashton, Ava and Ayden Rightmyer; brothers, Timmy and Philip Dickens; sister, Terri Butler; his dogs and cat; and his grand-dog, Zoey.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 pm Sunday at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service, with the funeral to follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.  Pastor Randy Martin will preside.  In accordance with his request, Mr. Dickens will be cremated following the service.
