Michael Anthony Coburn, 70, of Roanoke Rapids, died May 25, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Michael was born in Ventura, CA on August 4, 1950, a son to Joseph and Sarah Monday Coburn. He served in the US Navy from 1971 – 1975.
With his wife, Linda, Michael loved to travel in their RV as well as on his motorcycle.
He enjoyed cross-country trips. For two summers while traveling, he and Linda portrayed the characters of Yogi Bear and Boo Boo in Cherokee.
Known by many as Mr. Fix It, Michael had a boundless sense of humor, was a jokester and a big flirt.
Linda was the love of his life and his most treasured times were being with her and holding her hand. He supported her in any and all of her endeavors.
In addition to his wife Linda, Michael is survived by his son, Jason Coburn (Isabel) of NY City; daughter, Jennifer Chwalik of Bahama; five grandsons, Jordan, Spencer, Samuel, and twins Andy and Ben; a brother, Gregory Coburn of Roanoke Rapids; and sisters, Kathy Barnhill of Halifax and Kim Hux of Durham.
Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Monday at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.
The funeral service, with military honors, will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Rd, Goldsboro, NC. Bishop Murphy Myrick will preside.
