Charles Raymond Carlyle, Sr., 76, of Weldon, passed away early Monday morning on November 1, 2021.
He was born on August 7, 1945 in Portsmouth, VA, the son of Alice Marie Carroll Carlyle, now aged 98, and the late Jesse Julian Carlyle, who passed away December 8, 2001. His only brother, Carroll Julian Carlyle, preceded him in death on March 7, 2021.
Mr. Carlyle was a pipefitter/welder during his working career. He graduated from Weldon High School in 1963 and was an US Air Force veteran (1963-1967).
Surviving is his mother, Alice Marie Carroll Carlyle; a sister, Diana Marie Carlyle; a son, Charles Raymond Carlyle, Jr. (Chip) of Pittsburgh, PA; a daughter, Kimberly Denise Carlyle of Lancaster, PA; grandsons Joey Carlyle and Kenneth Alverez; granddaughters Maya Carlyle and Savannah Alverez. Also surviving is a niece, Brandy Gail Hutcheson of Florida; great-nieces Kayla and Braylee; great-nephews Gus and Troy; cousin Ernestine Coates and her children Lucille Buffaloe and Tony Shearin, and cousins Brenda Wilson, Rita Feuler, Elaine Coates, Hazel Burnip, Glenda Carroll Roberts, Clyde Carroll, Marty McDonald, Ann Carroll Chockley, Linda Carroll, Betty Jo Carroll, Don Carroll, Keith Carroll, and Lex Carroll.
Services for Mr. Carlyle will be held from the graveside at 1:00 PM Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon with Mr. Lucas King officiating. Military honors will be provided by the US Air Force.
