Linda Undine Liles Pittard, 73, of Aurelian Springs, NC, went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2021 after a courageous battle with Leukemia for over a year.  

She was a devoted wife, and a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.  Anyone who knew Linda was touched by her kindness, strength and endurance.  

She loved her family and friends greatly. 

 

Her sacrificial love and her positive attitude through the toughest trials will forever serve as an example to us all.

Linda was born on September 19, 1948, to Willie "Pop" Leon Liles, Jr. and Undine Isles Liles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother and father-in-law: James Ambrose Pittard and Elsie Hux Pittard; a sister-in-law: Joyce Cobb (Gene), and a brother-in-law: James Donald "Bubba" Pittard (Mary Lee).

She is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart, of 53 years, Douglas W. Pittard; two daughters: Denise Hale (Andy) and Donna Dent (Chris); two sons: Jonathan Pittard (Christi) and Randall Pittard (Brandy); 9 grandchildren: Jordan, Colby and Tyler Hale (Grace), Dylan and Britney Pittard, Braylon and Trever Dent, and Ethan and Elijah Pittard; one great grandchild: Jordan "JC" Hale; a brother: HL Liles (Barbara); four sisters: Barbara Ann Green (Henry), Rose Marie Inscoe (CD), Ava Faye Etheridge, and Jenny Sue King; a sister-in-law: Jackie Norman (George); and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family would like to express their sincere and overwhelming gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Duke, UNC, North Vidant, Hillcrest, Community Home Care & Hospice, and her in-home caregivers (Wanda Johnson, Alecia Richardson, Minnie Hedgepeth and Shwanna Sparkman), who became part of our family over the past year.

The family will receive visitors at Hockaday Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids, NC on Friday, November 5th from 5:30-7:30PM.

There will be a funeral to honor her life at Corinth United Methodist in Littleton, NC on Saturday, November 6th at 3PM, followed by a graveside service at Hawkins Chapel United Methodist, in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Rev. Stan Lewis and Rev. Dr. Gene Cobb, Jr. will preside over the services.  Pall bearers will be Caleb Liles, Melvin Green, David Inscoe, Johnny Etheridge, Stewart King, Bruce Pittard, Blake Norman, and Jordan Hale.
