Anne Ross Emery, age 86, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at The Landings of Lake Gaston in Littleton, NC.

She was born on December 1, 1935, in Grimesland, NC, to Curtis Mack Ross and Mary Outlaw Ross.

She married Elridge Lee Emery, Sr., on March 21, 1958, in Greenville, NC.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Elridge Lee Emery, Sr.

She is survived by her son, Elridge Lee Emery, Jr., (Tammy), grandson Bryan Lee Emery (Hannah) and great grandsons Owen Lee Emery and Oliver Michael Emery.

She was a Registered Nurse who worked various positions throughout her career working in the hospital, doctor offices, private duty and with the State of North Carolina.

She particularly enjoyed working as the School Nurse for the Roanoke Rapids Graded School System early in her career and retired as the Nurse Supervisor at Caledonia Correctional Institution in 2000.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Roanoke Rapids, NC.

After retiring from the State, she and her husband opened a pet store they named Wet Pets in Roanoke Rapids.  She had several dogs, raised birds, and had three special parrots that had an extensive vocabulary that were her pride and joy.

She enjoyed relaxing by the swimming pool or just admiring the koi pond, feeding the fish, and working in the flower gardens in her yard.  Her favorites were lilies and roses. She enjoyed taking pictures of the flowers and landscape of her back yard as well as pictures of her dogs and birds.

She especially enjoyed sharing the oasis she had created in her back yard with her family.

Her son, daughter-in-law and grandson spent many wonderful hours making memories with her in her happy place.  She was also blessed to see her grandson get married and have two adorable sons that would make her a great grandma.
