Linda Lou Shaw Pernell, 67, of Gaston passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023, in ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.
Ms. Pernell was born on March 13, 1955, in Halifax County, the daughter of the late Margaret Christine Ellis and James Emmit Shaw, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her Brother James Emmit Shaw, Jr. and her dog Peanut.

Surviving include her husband Francis Keith Hobbs, her daughters Angela Lou Pernell Taylor (Jeffrey) of Roanoke Rapids and Melissa Kay Pernell Hobbs ( Jason) of Gaston; her step son Justin Keith Hobbs; her sisters Kimberly Ann Shaw and fiancé David King, Priscilla Shaw Ricks, and Lillian “Re Re” Shaw Turner, all of Gaston; her grandchildren Melinda Lou Hobbs, Emberleigh Ruth Hobbs, and Margaret Kaye Hobbs; her great grandson Benjamin Elroy Hobbs Bobbitt; and many other extended family members.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 9, 2023, from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.
