Cynthia Parker Bryant, 84, of Asheville and previously of both Raleigh and Roanoke Rapids, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2023, with her family by her side.

Born October 12, 1939, in Pitt County, NC, she was a daughter of the late William and Miriam Parker.  

She was an alumnus of East Carolina University, formerly known as East Carolina College class of 1961 with a major in French and minor in Spanish. 

After 30 years of service, Cynthia retired in 1999 from the Employment Security Commission.  She was a member of New Testament Christian Church in Roanoke Rapids.  

Traveling was her passion as she first visited Paris, France in 1962 to study at the Sorbonne, and had since explored many countries of Western Europe. 

In addition, she spent seven summers exploring DownEast Maine with her daughter, Claudia.

 In more recent years, she had enjoyed being a participant at the Mountain Care Adult Day Services program, where she received loving care from the staff. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Ann Carter Irby.

Surviving are her children, E. Andy Bryant Jr. of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Claudia R. Bryant of Asheville, NC; niece, Elizabeth Ballero and her spouse, Junior, of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and nephews, Parker and Keith McKeel both of Roanoke Rapids, NC.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2024, in New Testament Christian Church with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.  Friends may sign the online register by visitingwww.hockadayfs.com
