William Joseph “Bill” Shearin, Jr., 67, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Bill was born January 30, 1952, in Nash County to the late William Joseph Shearin, Sr. and Betty Bulluck Shearin.

Bill was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. He retired from International Paper after 33 years. Bill graduated from Atlantic Christian College. He was a member of Seven Spot Hunting Club and Halifax Fishing Club. He loved to cook and play golf.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cindy H. Shearin, his son, Brandon Shearin and fiancé Megan Orren of Darlington; his daughter, Heather S. Cooke and her husband Jason of Darlington; his sister, Betty Jo S. Wallace and her husband Jim of Skippers, VA; his grandchildren, Bryce and Ashlyn Cooke, Easton Shearin, Riley and Brayden Mills; a special niece Kristin Hamill.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Formo officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:30 P.M. Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 10001 Aurelian Springs Road, Littleton, NC 27850.
