Stephanie “Lulu” Baird, 65, of Gaston, North Carolina, passed away on October 7, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, family, and memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.
Stephanie was born on January 23, 1961, in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.
Stephanie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She found joy in the simple things that made life beautiful. She loved flowers and gardening, spending time shopping, sitting beside the pool on warm days, enjoying the sunshine and relaxing while spending time with the people she loved, and most of all, being surrounded by her family.

Her grandchildren were especially precious to her, and she loved them more than anything. She treasured every moment spent with them and took great pride in watching them grow.
Stephanie is survived by her son, Tommy Gerald Lamm Jr., of Youngsville, North Carolina, and his fiancée, Jaclyn Crabtree; and her three beloved grandchildren, Zack Lamm, Maddox Lamm, and Maren Lamm.
She is also survived by her siblings, Freda Martin and her husband, Billy; Robbie Ashworth; Barney Ashworth and his wife, Renee; Rhonda Davis and her husband, Wayne; and Sabrina Moody.
Stephanie leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members, including niece, Hillary Liles and her husband, Daniel; nephew, Justin Davis and his wife, Chelsea; niece, Emily Davis; nephew, Gabriel Moody; and great-nephew, Nash Liles, as well as many other relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Stephanie also had a very special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Taco, whom she loved dearly and who was a cherished part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Braxton Baird, affectionately known as “Buck”; her mother, Joyce Ashworth; her father, Bill Ashworth; and her brother-in-law, Anthony Moody.
Stephanie will be remembered for her love of family, her beautiful flowers and garden, her love of shopping, sitting beside the pool on warm, sunny days, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the peaceful moments, and the unconditional love she gave to those around her. But above all, she will be remembered as a grandmother who adored her grandchildren, and as a mother whose love for her son was unwavering.
Though Stephanie is no longer with us, the love she gave, the memories she created, and the lives she touched will remain forever. Her grandchildren will carry her love with them as they grow, and her family will continue to find comfort in the many memories they shared.
Stephanie’s life was a beautiful garden of memories, and those who loved her will carry those memories in their hearts forever.
Funeral Services will be held for Stephanie at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 12, 2026, in the Chapel of Wrenn Funeral Home, 1015 West 5th Street, Roanoke Rapids, with Pastor Steve Mulinex officiating (a special request made by Stephanie herself, since he was the minister who performed her and Buck’s wedding).
