The Halifax Academy Lady Vikings snatched the lead late in the game in a 2-1 home victory over the Lawrence Academy Lady Warriors on Tuesday.

The game was tied at one with Halifax Academy batting in the bottom of the fifth when Ashlyn Cooke singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Lady Vikings Cooke struck out 11, while Warriors pitchers sat down nine.

Halifax Academy opened up scoring in the second inning. Hayden Hilton grounded out, scoring one run.

Cooke was the winning pitcher for Halifax Academy. The fireballer surrendered one run on one hit over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking zero.

Halifax Academy tallied seven hits. Ashton Knight and Cooke each managed multiple hits for Halifax Academy Varsity Vikings. Cooke and Knight each collected two hits to lead the Vikings.
