Kalissa Williams threw a gem on Friday night for the Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets softball team, allowing zero runs and besting Southern Nash by a score of 1-0

The pitching was strong on both sides. Williams struck out 11, while Southern Nash pitchers sat down seven.

One bright spot for Southern Nash was a double in the second inning.

Williams got the win for Roanoke Rapids Varsity Yellow Jackets. The ace surrendered zero runs on three hits over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking zero.

Logan Storey, Lauren Garner, Karlee Hammack, and Williams each collected one hit to lead Roanoke Rapids Varsity Yellow Jackets.

The Lady Jackets improve to 5-0 and travel to Northern Nash Tuesday evening.
