With filing for the November 3 municipal elections ending today at noon, incumbent Roanoke Rapids Graded School District trustee Mike Williams will fight with Joey Briggs, John Grimes and Ed Liverman for his seat.
Incumbent Roanoke Rapids City Councilwoman Carol Cowen will face competition from Terry Buffaloe.
Ernest Bobbitt and Carl Ferebee are running unopposed for their council seats.

Town of Enfield
Tracey G. Joyner is running unopposed for the at-large commissioner seat.
Bud Whitaker is running unopposed for the District A seat.
Kent Holmes is running unopposed for the District B seat.
Town of Halifax
Mayor John White is running unopposed.
Randy Birdsong is seeking a seat on the town board while incumbents Lee Clements, Barbara Jean Daniels and John Suiter are seeking re-election.
Town of Hobgood
Mayor Dannie Flanary is running unopposed.
Town commissioners Hyman “Buddy” Leggett Jr. and Julian Wayne Padgette are running unopposed.
Town of Littleton
Donald Spragins is seeking a seat on the town board while Clara Debnam and Gerleen Pitchford seek re-election.
Town of Scotland Neck
Town Commissioner Eddie Braxton is running unopposed for mayor.
James Gunnells, Charles Shields and Raymond Watson are running unopposed.
Town of Weldon
Appointed town board member Franklin D. Williams will face competition from challengers who include former Mayor Johnny Draper, Charlotte Moss, Nancy Sandoval, John W. “Prime” Smith and Reailyn Stanback.
Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District Board of Directors
Appointed members Jack Barber and Steve Holliday, as well as incumbent Gene St. Clair are running unopposed.
