An alcohol-fueled fight last week in Rich Square led to the arrests of both participants, according to the Northampton County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Jack Smith said in a statement that on January 21, Deputy Kenny Melton respond to a residence on Highway 258 on an assault call.

Once at the residence, Melton found Thomas Robinson bleeding from his face and forehead.

Melton learned Charles Lee Gray, 50, and Thomas Robinson, 60, had been drinking and arguing. At some point the argument became physical.

Robinson allegedly assaulted Gray, who then assaulted Robinson in the face and head with an ash tray.

Robinson was transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
