City recognizes years of service; promotion

The city this evening recognized several employees from each department for their years of service and the fire department recognized the promotion of one of its firefighters.

Fire Chief Stacy Coggins conducted a pinning ceremony to recognize the promotion of Wes Hux from engineer to deputy fire marshal.

Fire department honorees.

In the service awards, Brandon Shearin was recognized for 10 years of service and Joshua Sparks and Bryan Hollowell were recognized for five years of service each in the fire department.

Parks and recreation Director John Simeon, left, with his department honorees.

The parks and recreation department recognized Garry Moore and Kenneth Scott for 10 years each; Michael Manning for 20 and Elton Edwards for 25.

Planning and development Director Kelly Lasky with Duhadaway.

The planning and development department recognized Brian Duhadaway for 10 years of service.

Police department honorees. Benthall and Curry were not present.

The police department recognized Jason Williams and Jonathan Benthall for five years of service each; Thomas Massey for 10 years; Perry Parks and Tina Queen for 15 years each and Rebecca Curry for 20.

Public works honorees.

The public works department recognized Charles Jones, Brenda Lee, Teresa Walker and Curtis Williams for five years each; Danny Acree and Darnell Fleming for 10; John Motley Sr. for 20; Kelvin Rivers for 25 and Eakie Lee Boone for 30.
