Glenn
Trooper N.T. Hanline said Dareus Glenn, 21, of Carolina Rest Home Road, was driving south of Rich Square on Highway 258 when the trooper reportedly clocked him speeding 73 miles per hour in a 55 zone shortly before 3:30 p.m.
Hanline allegedly smelled the odor of marijuana coming from Glenn's vehicle. As Glenn reached into his pocket for his license, a bag of marijuana fell out. His hairnet for his job at a chicken processing plant in Lewiston was also in the pocket with the marijuana.
A subsequent search led Hanline to discover five more bags of marijuana in the cargo pocket of Glenn's work pants and the urine-filled pill bottle wrapped in a sock and tucked inside one of his work boots.
Glenn was reportedly speeding because he was late for work and the company had also scheduled a drug test.
Hanline said the total amount of marijuana seized weighed 29.7 grams. One bag was the size of two golf balls, one the size of one golf ball and the others small. In addition, Hanline seized a blunt.
Glenn was bonded on charges of possession with intent to sell and distribute marijuana and maintaining a vehicle to keep a controlled substance. He was also charged with speeding, possession of drug paraphernalia and aggravated misdemeanor possession of marijuana not more than one and a half ounce.
He received a $5,000 bond and has a first court appearance Monday in Northampton County.
