Eighty boxes of rechargeable drills were stolen from a tractor-trailer at the Pilot Truck Center, apparently as the driver slept, according to the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office.

The trailer was last known secure around 4 p.m. Sunday, according to a statement by Captain Chuck Hasty.

The truck center is located at the Interstate 95 and Highway 48 intersection in the Pleasant Hill area.

Another driver notified the driver of the vehicle broken into that the trailer doors were open.

The suspects broke a plastic security seal to gain access to the trailer and stole the boxes of Ryobi drills, which were lime green and in boxes about the size of desk calendars.

Hasty said at this time the sheriff's office has no suspect or vehicle description. He said if anyone is approached about buying one of the drills they are encouraged to call the sheriff's office at 252-534-2611.
