Halifax County commissioners today agreed to set aside April 15 as the Annual Ella Baker Day to honor a figure whose work in the field of civil rights will be commemorated in Littleton next month.
Jimmy I. Williams Jr. was taken to the Halifax County Detention Center this afternoon where he will be jailed on $750,000 bond for charges related to a December 11 shooting.
The second person wanted in a December 11 shooting was taken into custody today.
