Two people wanted in a drug trafficking probe by the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office have surrendered.

Major Anzell Harris said Jazmine Ransom surrendered at the sheriff’s office around 1 a.m. today, while Tyron Mills surrendered Thursday around 2 a.m.

Ransom was denied bail due to pending drug charges in Wake County.

Mills, who has an October 22 district court date, is no longer listed in Halifax County Detention Center records and, according to court records, signed a waiver of counsel Thursday.

Mills faces charges of trafficking in cocaine; possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver cocaine; felony possession of cocaine; possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver marijuana; felony possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance; and felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance following the execution of a search warrant on Melody Lane last Friday.

Ransom, who has an October 6 district court date, faces charges of trafficking in cocaine; possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver cocaine; possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; and felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance as a result of search warrants executed last Friday on Jim Martin Drive and on Cedar Street in Weldon.

Cecil Ransom, who was taken into custody the day of the raids, remains in custody.

The raids were the result of a monthslong investigation into drug trafficking activity.
