Roanoke Rapids police are investigating a shooting which occurred around 9 p.m. Friday.
The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:
One person is in custody and one is still being sought in the attempted murder of an Emporia police officer Sunday.
A fire in the 600 block of Williams Street early this morning caused extensive damage, completely destroying a bedroom and kitchen.
