A Warrenton woman faces 66 counts of larceny by employee from Carolina Quick Care in Roanoke Rapids after she allegedly pocketed patient's cash co-pays and deleted their accounts from the company computer system.
Extensive investigation by Detective Frankie Griffin of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department that begin on June 21 shows Jamesha Keyonna Davis, 25, was allegedly stealing money starting in December and ending when it was reported to the police department.
The embezzlement involves some 79 patients and $6,949 in co-pays which were allegedly diverted to Davis's own use, Captain Andy Jackson said. At one time five patient accounts were deleted in one day.
Jackson said the company will have to get the money back from Davis. “It has made it difficult for the company to bill insurance.”
Davis, who was served the warrant in Warrenton, was jailed on $10,000 bond and has a September 21 court date.
