Roanoke Rapids uniformed officers and narcotics agents returned to the 300 block of Madison Street Thursday afternoon, arresting a 23-year-old man for charges related to marijuana sales.
It was the second time in a week the police department went to the block after a raid August 15 netted marijuana and crack cocaine charges.
On Thursday officers charged Antonio D. Blount with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers confiscated 10 bags of marijuana packaged for sale, Captain Andy Jackson said. Blount was jailed on $1,500 bond.
Search warrants for the raid were secured after officers received numerous complaints about drug activity in the area.
Last week a raid at 304 Madison Street, which is next to the one Blunt was arrested at, netted the arrest of Dawn Schmidhamner, 32, for possession of schedule II. Officers also cited Melvin Waker in the 200 block for simple possession of marijuana.
