Prentis Markeith Crossen has been charged in the Interstate 95-Highway 46 armed robbery in Northampton County along with a store clerk and a relative who allegedly gave him a ride.
The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office is the third law enforcement agency to charge the 19-year-old Garysburg resident with armed robbery.
He faces multiple charges in Roanoke Rapids and Weldon.
Detective Brenda Burnette said Crossen is charged with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

She also charged Florence Cunningham, a 42-year-old Village Grocery clerk with conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Burnette declined to discuss the role the Garysburg woman allegedly played in the robbery.
Also charged was Jeanette Dunn of Weldon, a 49-year-old relative of Crossen’s who allegedly drove him in the Northampton County robbery.
Dunn was jailed on $3,000 bond. Cunningham, who Burnette said was acquainted with Crossen, was jailed on $5,000 bond.
They all have Thursday first appearance dates in Northampton County court, Burnette said.
Crossen is not suspected of receiving help in the Roanoke Rapids or Weldon robberies.
