Roanoke Rapids police continue to investigate a breaking an entering last week that occurred at B&T Wholesale.
Shortly after 8 a.m. on March 16, Officer Jason Williams responded to the business on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway.
When the owner came in, he noticed the crack between the doors was wider than usual and found it was pried open.
He also noticed the snack machines were opened and solicited a fellow business owner to re-enter the business with him. They discovered the safe was broken into and all the money inside was taken, along with a .38 revolver.
Captain Andy Jackson said tools within the building were apparently used to break into the safe.
The suspect or suspects apparently exited the building from the rear.
