A Roanoke Rapids man with a previous criminal record was charged Thursday following delivery of a search warrant.

The delivery of the search warrant was based on officer intelligence and neighborhood complaints, Lieutenant S. Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s said in a news release.

The sheriff’s office charged Michael Lawrence Fahey, 22, with possession of a firearm by a felony, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor maintain a dwelling for the purpose of storing a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hall said the arrest was the result of a search warrant at a residence on Melody Lane in the Lincoln Heights community. This was an effort between narcotics agents, uniformed deputies and Sergeant T. Staton of the Gaston Police Department.

During the search a firearm, an undisclosed amount of marijuana and paraphernalia was found.

Fahey was jailed on $15,000 bond and has a June court date.
