A Warren County man has been charged with the March 13 theft of a commercial lawn mower in which several parts were stripped and sold for scrap.

Detective R. Somogyi of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said the $6,000 mower, stolen from the Roper Springs area, was recovered in a wooded area.

Further investigation led to the arrest of Brandon Lamar Lee, 20, who was charged with felony larceny, possession of stolen property and injury to personal property.

Lee was jailed on $10,000 and has a June 27 court date.
