The manager of Yesteryear was badly beaten Sunday morning after he asked one of the patrons to leave.
Two people, James Tyler McKenzie and Anthony Ray Peters, both of Roanoke Rapids, were charged in the beating in which the manager sustained lacerations and broken bones.
Captain Andy Jackson of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department said the beating occurred shortly before 2 a.m. at the establishment located on Becker Drive.
McKenzie, 26, faces a charge of assault inflicting serious injury while Peters faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
Peters allegedly hit the manager with a beer mug and bar stool while McKenzie allegedly physically assaulted him.
McKenzie received a $15,000 bond and August 8 court date while Peters, 34, received a $75,000 bond and July 25 court date.
