Investigation by Detective O.L. Wiltsie determined that Michael Shane Johnson, 42, was looking for someone and allegedly intended to cause them harm, leading to the attempted murder charge and a charge of possession of a stolen firearm.

Wiltsie declined to elaborate further on the case when contacted by rrspin.com this afternoon.

He said in a press release that shortly before 10:45 a.m. Monday deputies responded to a call that a man was reported crouched between cars in the Dollar General and Food Lion parking lots off Bolling Road.

Responding deputies found Johnson crouched between cars and detained him, taking the handgun he allegedly had from him.

The handgun came back as stolen and investigation by Wiltsie, Deputy S.G. Page, Sergeant Paul Ward and Detective R.L. Rooks led to the charges being lodged.

Johnson was given a $250,000 bond and an October 10 court date.
