A Littleton man is in trouble for buying auto parts on the account of a company he worked for without reimbursement.

Detective J. Sealey of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office also charged 46-year-old Daric “Pete” Pierce for buying parts for a customer soliciting his shade tree mechanic business who never received them.

Sealey charged Pierce with 31 counts of obtaining property by false pretense following an investigation that allegedly revealed Pierce was ordering automotive parts and accessories through company accounts of his former employer for personal use.

Sealey said the company for which Pierce worked for and did not disclose the name of, covered the losses.

The charges account for more than $5,000 worth of parts that Pierce allegedly obtained through fraudulent means.

There was probably a couple of hundred dollars worth of parts the private citizen paid Pierce for that were never received, Sealey said.

Sealey is requesting that anyone who had dealings with Pierce not reported to the sheriff’s office to contact investigators at 252-583-8201 during business hours.
