Roanoke Rapids police are looking for a juvenile reported missing since September 28.

The child is not suspected of being in any harm and it is not abduction, Major Tommy Hathaway said, adding, however, “The child does not need to be out on his own.”

The boy, 14-year-old Jamal Omar Riggs, was last seen in the 600 block of Cedar Street wearing Air Jordan shoes, black jeans, red shirt and a blue and black jacket.

He was reported missing at 2:30 p.m. and is said to have s short haircut and scar on his chin. He is African-American.

He may have a change of clothes with him.
