Search warrant affidavits show Raymond Michael Baker admitted to two allegations against him but denied another in a case involving lewd text messages.

Baker, 42, of Park Avenue, denied touching the 15-year-old victim but admitted to sending the juvenile photos of penises and vaginas and asking the victim to send a photo of himself masturbating into a bag, the documents filed in the Halifax County Clerk of Courts Office show.
Detective Jeff Baggett of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department applied for the search warrants in the case after the mother of the victim reported to police that Baker allegedly sent her son lewd messages.
Investigation by Detective Corey Dixon revealed the victim said the first incident occurred the weekend of the widespread flooding in the city when he was over at Baker’s house playing games. “He tried to touch me,” the statement in the affidavit said.
Asked to clarify, the victim said, “He tried grabbing my penis with his hand and I backed away.”
Later that evening, according to the affidavit, the victim said he was lying on the couch while Baker was lying on the floor. The victim woke up to discover Baker was allegedly “playing with his penis.”
The victim told the investigator he told Baker to stop and when Baker asked why, the victim said, “I told you I was not like that.”
That same evening, the affidavit says, the victim reported that Baker allegedly tried to show him a pornographic video on the computer.
The victim told Dixon that on September 23 he received text messages from Baker allegedly asking him to masturbate into a bag and to take a photo filling it.
“The next text message states ‘$20 tops,’” and a subsequent message says, “And send me a picture each time (you) fill it.”
The victim did allegedly admit to sending Baker two photos of his own sexual organ and, in turn, Baker allegedly sent him three of pictures of a penis inside a vagina and a fourth picture of a vagina with semen in it.
Baker was arrested after the execution of the search warrants and interviewed by Dixon, according to the affidavit. “Raymond Baker denied touching (the victim). Raymond Baker admitted to sending juvenile pictures of penises and vaginas. Raymond Baker admitted to telling juvenile ‘to do it’ in a bag.”
