A man charged by Roanoke Rapids police and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office with child sex offenses will spend eight to 12 years in prison.

Cornelius Davis pled guilty Wednesday to two counts of indecent liberties, two counts of crimes against nature and one count of sex offense in a parental role, according to court records.

The counts involve him committing offenses with two different children, law enforcement said at the time of his arrest.

The counts he pled guilty to reflect charges filed by both jurisdictions and involve him committing sexual acts with a child under the age of 13.

The sentences are to be served at the expiration of one another.
