A Jackson man died Tuesday night in a one-vehicle crash on Highway 305.

According to an initial report by state Highway Patrol Trooper L. Bynum, Anthony Stephenson, 43, of Bryantown Road, was traveling south about 2 miles outside of Jackson.

The vehicle went off the roadway to the right and Stephenson overcorrected. He crossed the centerline and then went off the roadway to the left and struck a tree.

Alcohol use is suspected but a final determination is pending a blood test.
