A mother and son were arrested today following the service of a search warrant in Scotland Neck at the mother’s house.

Halifax County Sheriff’s Office narcotics agents and deputies also arrested the mother’s boyfriend and seized 46 individually wrapped bags of crack cocaine packaged for sale.

 

Lieutenant Bobby Martin said agents had been investigating the residence of Sheree Alston and her son, Montrell, for the past several months.

Agent A.M. Harris said in a news release narcotics agents received several complaints about the residence, located on East 16th Street.

District Court Judge Brenda Branch granted a search warrant and officers converged on the house shortly after 11:30 this morning.

The officers also found user amounts of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Montrell Alston

Montrell Alston, 19, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance, possession of marijuana up to a half ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was jailed on $10,000 bond and has an April 3 court date.

His mother, 36, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine and maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance. She was jailed on $15,000 bond and has an April 3 court date.

Adam Dickens, 32, the boyfriend, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and felony possession of cocaine. He was jailed on $10,000 bond and has an April 3 court date.
