The Roanoke Rapids Police Department is trying to determine to identity of the woman in the surveillance photo who is believed to have stolen a wallet left at the checkout counter of a local business.

The photo was taken on February 14. Police say the actual surveillance footage shows the woman allegedly spotted the wallet and covered it with her own as she went through checkout. She then allegedly put the victim’s wallet in her pocket and her own wallet in her purse.

The woman made a $57.23 purchase with the debit card inside the wallet.
