The Roanoke Rapids Hampton Inn, part of First Carolina Management and under the leadership of General Manager Percilla West, was notified in March that the hotel achieved the Lighthouse Award.

This award is presented to the top 5 percent of Hampton properties, recognized for high rankings in accommodations, service and quality. The Roanoke Rapids Hampton Inn is among only 75 Hampton Inn properties nationwide and only 12 in the state of North Carolina to be honored with the Lighthouse Award this year.

The winners of the Lighthouse Award, as well as the Connie Award and the Circle of Excellence Award were recognized in the March 6, issue of USA Today: “Hampton is proud to congratulate and recognize the recipients of the 2012 Connie Awards, Lighthouse Awards, and Circle of Excellence Awards,” the company said in accepting the award. “At each of our 1,900 hotels worldwide, we offer friendly service, comfortable accommodations, excellent value and outstanding amenities, including our free hot breakfast, clean and fresh Hampton bed, and free fitness facilities. Every year, based on guest feedback, we reward those hotels that have shown exceptional dedication to customer service, overall guest satisfaction and an infectious spirit that we like to call ‘Hamptonality.’”

According to the Hampton Inn website, “Coined in 2004, ‘Hamptonality’ is a term that the brand uses to define the proactive, friendly service that Hampton hotel team members offer guests daily, aligning with the product and amenities at the hotels.

The award.

With a signature offering that includes a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee; free, hot breakfast; free high-speed Internet access and the Clean & Fresh Hampton Bed, Hampton is continually improving its product offering to meet and exceed the needs of all guests.  But what really distinguishes Hampton from its competitors is the way hotel team members make guests feel.”

The Roanoke Rapids Hampton Inn ranks 52 out of more than 1,900 Hampton Inn properties worldwide based on the hotel’s quality assurance ratings and, most importantly, guest surveys.

From the overwhelmingly positive feedback from guests of the Roanoke Rapids Hampton Inn, this team knows exactly what “Hamptonality” is all about.

“It is truly an honor to work with such a great team. The Lighthouse Award and our other awards would not have been possible without each and every member of the Roanoke Rapids Hampton Inn team,” said West. “I am also grateful to First Carolina Management for their leadership and for our partnership with three dynamic local organizations – the Halifax County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Roanoke Valley Chamber of Commerce and Halifax Horizons, that work diligently every day to make Halifax County the best place to live, travel, and do business.”

The Roanoke Rapids Hampton Inn has won the Circle of Excellence Award in 2009 and 2010 and has been a Wall of Fame winner numerous years. The hotel also won the First Carolina Management Diamond Award in both 2009 and 2012.

Hampton Inn will continue celebrating by co-hosting a Business After Hours with the Halifax County CVB on June 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the hotel.
