A license plate light violation this morning resulted in the seizure of five ounces of marijuana and the arrest of a Garysburg man.

Roanoke Rapids police said officers Gerald Morris and Bryan Moring stopped Antonio Hill, 32, at the intersection of Fourth Street and Roanoke Avenue after noticing the violation shortly before 12:45.
The officers smelled marijuana in the vehicle and further investigation led to the discovery of pot in a console.
The officers charged Hill with felony possession of marijuana, maintaining a vehicle for the sale of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and deliver and a license plate violation.
He was jailed on $5,000 bond.
