One man has been arrested in a series of break-ins that occurred in the Hollister and Enfield areas since September.
Identification of Rashad Evans, 19, of Hollister, came through surveillance footage used to investigate the case, Detective J.M. Clark of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said.
The crimes involved three break-ins of one company and one at a hunting club next to the business.
The items stolen in the break-ins include copper, various metals, and wire spools, collectively totaling more than $26,000.
On Saturday, Deputy P. Moyer approached a group gathered near a local convenience store in the Enfield area and identified one of the men as Evans.
Moyer arrested Evans without incident on the felony warrants obtained by Clark earlier this month. Evans is charged with four counts of felony breaking and entering, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering, two counts of felony possession of stolen goods, and one count of injury to real property. Evans was given a $10,000 bond pending a November 26 court date.
