The recount requested by Edith Jenkins in the Weldon City Schools Board of Education race will be held Wednesday morning at 9 a.m.

The Halifax County Board of Elections will also be part of the statewide recount for the associate Supreme Court Justice race, in which Cheri Beasley, the incumbent, leads by .22 percent of the ballots cast in the November 4 general election.

Jenkins, an incumbent, lost her bid for re-election to the Weldon school board by four votes.

The recount will be held in the board of commissioners room in the Historic Courthouse in Halifax.
