A man wanted in a Saturday morning stabbing surrendered to Enfield police Monday night.
Lieutenant Jerry Powell said Antonio L. Johnson faces a count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury.
He was jailed on $10,000 secured bond and assigned a January 21 court date.
Investigation of the case began when Officer Michael Horner was on patrol on North Martin Luther King Avenue and encountered a 38-year-old male victim who was bleeding profusely from multiple stab wounds and lacerations on much of his upper body and head.
With assistance from Halifax County Sheriff's Office deputies, officers learned that Johnson had allegedly been at the residence along with the victim and several others when an argument began that eventually became physical.
