Roanoke Rapids police are trying to determine whether three men acted in concert by breaking into secure areas of three stores on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway during business hours Saturday.
Chief Chuck Hasty said the police department is also seeking the public's assistance in identifying the men.
The men entered the secure office and employee areas of these businesses.
While inside the males went through the personal property of employees and desk areas of the businesses. Some personal property that belonged to employees was taken.
The secure area of Tractor Supply was entered around 3:50 p.m.; the secure area of Petsense was entered at 4:30 p.m. and the secure area of Rose's was entered at 5:45 p.m.
Hasty said should the men strike again do not attempt to remove them, but contact local law enforcement.
He advised employees to obtain as much information as possible — race, gender, clothing, direction of travel, mode of travel and a vehicle description — and other information that will aid in their apprehension.
Hasty said the police department is asking area businesses to review current procedures in securing office and employee areas to prevent further thefts.
Police will come out to your business and conduct a security survey to review current policies or practices.
Anyone with information about these cases can contact Investigator J.K. Davis at the Roanoke Rapids Police Department 252-533-2810 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
