A domestic dispute led to a shooting early this morning in the Scotland Neck area.
An investigation into the shooting led Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Detective Willie Murphy Jr. to take out warrants for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury against Kinsey Maurice Goode, of Scotland Neck.
Goode, 33, is known to frequent the Roanoke Rapids, Enfield and Scotland Neck areas.
Murphy said the victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries from a single gunshot from what is believed to be a small caliber weapon.
Investigation into the case began around 3 a.m. when deputies were dispatched to Halifax Regional Medical Center where the victim was being treated.
