A suspicious vehicle this morning led to the arrest of two men on drug charges.
Agent C.A. Parker of the City County Drug Task Force said in a statement as he was traveling in the Premier Boulevard area he noticed a suspicious vehicle and stopped it in the Walmart parking lot.
He identified the driver as Joseph Humphries, 28, and the passenger as Rashard Jones, 29, both of Roanoke Rapids.
A small amount of marijuana and a couple of bags of cocaine containing user amounts was located in the vehicle following a search.
Parker cited Jones for possession of one half-ounce or less of marijuana and arrested Humphries for possession of cocaine. Humphries was also cited for open container and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Humphries received a $1,000 unsecured bond. Both men have February 24 court dates.
