Three people were shot, one left in serious condition, inside Yesteryear Cafe and Lounge early this morning.
Roanoke Rapids Police Chief Chuck Hasty said, as in proceedings started with the Carolina Inn, all legal options are being looked into as to possible nuisance abatement at the establishment on Becker Drive.
Hasty said motive is being investigated. He said handguns were fired inside the business, leaving the building with bullet holes and damaged chairs.
In a statement Hasty said officers were dispatched to the business shortly before 1:45 this morning after receiving a shooting call.
Officers found three people were shot inside the business. The victims were transported to Halifax Regional and one who was in serious condition was flown to another facility. All are currently being treated for the injuries they received as of this report.
Anyone with information on the matter is encouraged to call Investigator J.K. Davis at 252-533-2822 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
There were two shootings reported at the establishment in 2015, the last occurring in October and one in June.
