A Pleasant Hill man died Monday after the roof of a house he was in the process of tearing down collapsed on him.
Captain M.D. DeLoatch Sr. of the Northampton County Sheriff's Office said the man, Clinton Lee Boone, 65, was found late Monday evening by a family member checking on his welfare.
The house, located down a path across from Faithful Band Church on Cornwallis Road near the Big John Store Road intersection had burned a couple of weeks before, DeLoatch said.
Boone went out to the house earlier in the day Monday. It is believed the roof most likely collapsed between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. Monday.
