The Northampton County Sheriff's Office reported the following, according to Captain Courtney Williams:
Monday February 22, 2016
At approximately 11:35 p.m., Deputy T. Antunez responded to the Cal Floyd Road area. After speaking with the victim and noticing injuries to the face and head, Antunez arrested Rashawn Belfield of Garysburg, for assault inflicting serious injuries.
Belfield was jailed without opportunity for bond and given a March 15 court date.
Sheriff Jack Smith encourages “citizens if they have a disagreement, they should resolve their problems through peaceful means. It should never result to using a weapon.”
Smith commended Antunez in this case and the assistance of the Gaston Police Department.

At approximately 10:53 a.m., Sergeant P. Jacobs served Timothy Truitt, 29, of Smithfield, Virginia, outstanding orders for arrest at the Northampton County Jail.
Truitt had several outstanding orders for arrest for sexual battery, second-degree rape and second- degree sexual offense.
He received a $75,000 bond and March 7 court date. At approximately midnight, Deputy J. Lewis served Keyon West warrants at the Northampton County Jail.
West had several warrants for arrest for possession of a firearm by felon, first-degree burglary and discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling or moving vehicle.
West received a $75,000 secured bond and March 23 court date.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., Deputy C. Exum located Tyrone Hedgepeth in the 100 block of Gardner Drive. Hedgepeth had an outstanding child support contempt order and received a $1,000 cash bond.
Thursday February 25, 2016
At approximately 11 a.m., Captain D. Simmons located Allen Price Jr. 31, of Rich Square, at the Northampton County Courthouse.
Price had several outstanding orders for arrest for possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, DWI and open container.
Price received a $7,500 cash bond and April 18 court date.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., Simmons located Jacqueline Rera 21, of Gaston, at the Northampton County Courthouse. Rera had an outstanding warrant for larceny and received a $500 secured bond and March 8 court date.
At approximately 10:30 a.m., Sergeant W. James located Lamond Simmons 40, of Garysburg, at the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office.
Simmons had several outstanding warrants for communicating threats, assault with a deadly weapon and assault by strangulation and an outstanding order for arrest for driving with license revoked, speeding and reckless driving.
He received a $12,500 secured bond.
At approximately 11:55 a.m., Simmons located Casey Williams 38, of Rich Square, at the Northampton County Courthouse.
Williams had outstanding orders for arrest for fishing without a license and take striped bass during closed season.
He received a $200 secured bond and March 8 court date.
At approximately 4:52 a.m., Deputy C. Hamm responded to a domestic call in the Lincoln Park area. After talking with Ahmad Debreaux and Keosha Townes and noticing injuries to both individuals, Hamm arrested Ahmad Debereaux 27, for assault on a female and Keosha Townes 27, for simple assault. Both are from Rich Square.
Debreaux and Townes were jailed without opportunity for bond and received March 15 court dates. Smith commended Hamm for his work on the case.

At approximately 12:57 a.m., Deputy M. Sledge located Ramela Sakay 18, of Freeman, Virginia.
Sakay had outstanding warrants for arrest for simple assault and injury to personal property. She received a $1,000 secured bond and March 15 court date.
At approximately 2:20 a.m., Sledge responded to a domestic call in the Rich Square area.
After speaking with James Spradlin and Harley Spradlin and noticing injuries on both individuals, he arrested Mr. Spradlin, 21, for assault on a female and Ms. Spradlin 23, for assault and battery.
Both were jailed without opportunity for bond and received March 15 court dates.
At approximately 6:21 p.m., James located Macques Daye, 27, of Conway, at the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office.
Daye had outstanding warrants for breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods/property.
He received a $22,500 secured bond and March 3 court date.

At approximately 3:14 p.m., Williams located Malik Newsome, 22, of Seaboard, in the 100 block of Jefferson Street.
Newsome had an outstanding warrant for possession of firearm by felon and received a $10,000 secured bond and March 3 court date.
