The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Shane Guyant:

On Friday around 7:30 p.m. Master Officer D. Norfleet was in the area of Highway 158 and Smith Church Road when he observed a vehicle in the roadway. The driver, later identified as Reginald Levern Bradley, 50, appeared to have passed out and the engine of the vehicle was running.

Norfleet woke Bradley and during this exchange the officer detected the odor of alcohol.

Norfleet conducted a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and determined Bradley was impaired.

At the police department Bradley, of Roanoke Rapids, consented to a breath analysis and registered a .19.

A magistrate charged him with DWI.

He received a $500 bond and June 14 district court date.

Vehicles entered

On Friday around 10 p.m. the department received several reports of vehicles being entered and rummaged through in a parking lot at a business near the intersection of Tenth Street and Becker Drive.

No items were taken and no damages were reported. All the vehicles entered were left unlocked.

A video camera captured an image of a possible suspect.
