Leon “Lee” Wilbur Cahoon, Jr., 56, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026, at ECU Medical Center in Greenville.

Lee was born October 18, 1969, in Halifax County to Leon “Lee” Wilbur Cahoon, Sr. and Paula Bedgood Cahoon. 

Lee is survived by his parents, Leon “Lee” Wilbur Cahoon, Sr. and Paula Bedgood Cahoon; by his wife, Christy Matthews Cahoon; his children, Wil Cahoon and Leeanna Cahoon; his stepsons, James Matthews and his wife Katie, Dennis Kennedy and his wife Jessica, Ryan King and Josh King; seven grandchildren; his sisters, Michelle Rochelle and her husband Jason and Allyson Barner.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 23, 2026, in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Tony Smith officiating. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the funeral home and other times at the home.
