Doris Jean Seagroves Miles, 88, of Aurelian Springs, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Jean was born May 26, 1932 in Wake County to the late Eugene Burt Seagroves and Bessie Baird Seagroves. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John; three brothers and two sisters.

Jean worked at JP Stevens and Bibb Company and was a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother. 

Jean is survived by her children, Wesley Miles and his wife Ginger of Red Oak, Dennis Miles of Havelock, Allan Miles and his wife Debbie and Sandra DeBerry and her husband Joey both of Roanoke Rapids; her brothers, Melvin Seagroves of Garner and Tommy Seagroves of Fuquay Varina; her grandchildren, John W. Miles, III, Brian Miles, Richard Miles, Brandon Miles, Tracy Miles, Shelly Miles, Kristen Hardy and Josh Miles; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Helen Burtchell, CLM and Rev. Baker Rigg. The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 11:45 A.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.
